Product Description
An original WW2 German 7.92×57mm Mauser inert cartridge featuring the wartime bpa St 1939 headstamp, representing early Second World War German military ammunition production.
The 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge served as the standard rifle and machine gun calibre of the German armed forces throughout the war, used extensively in iconic weapons such as the Kar98k rifle and MG34 machine gun.
The “bpa” manufacturer code identifies production by Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH, one of the many German factories operating under the Wehrmacht’s coded ordnance system. Dated 1939, this cartridge originates from the opening year of WW2 and represents early-war German ammunition manufacture before full wartime industrial expansion.
The “St” marking indicates a steel cartridge case, reflecting Germany’s move toward steel ammunition production to conserve strategic brass supplies during the war.
This example retains authentic wartime appearance with clear headstamp markings and honest age-related patina, making it an excellent collectible for enthusiasts of WW2 German militaria, Mauser ammunition, or early-war Wehrmacht history.
