An original matched pair of British Army 1944 Pattern Webbing Small Pack Straps comprising both the left and right-hand straps.
These straps were designed specifically to secure the 1944 Pattern Small Pack to the soldier's webbing equipment and played an important role in distributing the weight of carried equipment across the shoulders. Introduced during the latter stages of the Second World War, the 1944 Pattern Web Equipment was intended to improve upon the earlier 1937 Pattern system and remained in service with British and Commonwealth forces for many years after the war.
This original pair retains its military construction with strong webbing, original fittings and excellent overall condition. Often missing from surviving webbing sets, original left and right small pack straps are increasingly difficult to find as a complete matching pair.
