Product Description
This authentic World War II-dated British and American 20mm ammunition shell casing is a significant artifact for collectors and military enthusiasts. Originally designed for the 20mm Oerlikon gun and other 20mm automatic cannons, these casings were widely used by both British and American forces during the war. The 20mm Oerlikon gun, a highly effective anti-aircraft and ship defense weapon, played a crucial role in the air and naval battles of WWII. These shell casings were once part of the ammunition fired in defense of warships, aircraft, and ground installations, making them a vital piece of wartime history.
Each shell casing bears the distinct markings and headstamps associated with the era, including the manufacturer, production year, and model, adding to their historical value. These casings, typically made of brass or steel, are now completely inert and safe for display, offering an authentic glimpse into the ammunition used during one of the most significant conflicts of the 20th century.
The shell casings show the patina and wear expected of items that were once part of active military service, further enhancing their authenticity. Ideal for collectors, historians, or anyone interested in WWII military technology, these 20mm shell casings make for an excellent display item or a conversation piece. They represent the technological advancements in warfare and the intense global efforts during the war, providing a tangible connection to the equipment that helped shape the course of history
