Product Description

An original WW2 .30-06 Springfield inert cartridge featuring the LC 42 headstamp, identifying wartime production by the renowned Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, USA.

The .30-06 Springfield cartridge became one of the most iconic military rifle calibres ever produced and served as the primary US service cartridge throughout the Second World War. It was used extensively in legendary American firearms such as the M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield rifle, BAR, and Browning machine guns.

The LC marking identifies manufacture at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, one of the United States’ principal wartime ammunition production facilities. Dated 1942, this cartridge originates from the crucial early years of America’s wartime mobilisation following entry into WW2.

Lake City ammunition is highly collectible due to its strong association with American military production during the war and its continued historic reputation within US ammunition manufacture.

This example retains authentic wartime appearance with clear headstamp markings and attractive age-related patina, making it an excellent addition to collections focused on US WW2 militaria, Garand history, or historic American military ammunition.

A classic wartime US service cartridge with strong display appeal.
