Product Description
The Cambrian Lamp was a type of miner's safety lamp that was produced by the Welsh company E. Thomas & Williams Ltd. The company was based in Aberdare, Wales, and was one of the largest manufacturers of safety lamps in the world.
The Cambrian Lamp was first introduced in the late 19th century and quickly gained a reputation for being reliable and durable. It was designed to be used in coal mines, where the risk of explosions caused by methane gas was high. The lamp was designed to detect the presence of gas and prevent it from igniting, which could cause an explosion.
