This genuine named medal was awarded for operational service during the Rhodesian Bush War and remains one of the most sought-after medals among collectors of Rhodesian and Southern African militaria.
The obverse bears the portrait of Cecil John Rhodes, while the reverse displays the Coat of Arms of Rhodesia with the national motto. The medal retains its original ribbon and is officially impressed around the rim to the recipient.
Signalman (SMN) indicates service in the Corps of Signals, responsible for battlefield communications and maintaining vital radio and telephone links during counter-insurgency operations.
