Product Description

  1. An exceptionally early and highly collectible 1896 dated Swedish 6.5×55mm Mauser inert cartridge, featuring the scarce DM headstamp associated with the earliest years of Swedish Mauser ammunition production.

The famous 6.5×55mm Swedish Mauser cartridge became one of the most respected military rifle calibres ever developed, renowned for its outstanding accuracy, reliability, and superb manufacturing quality. Early cartridges from the original adoption period are significantly harder to find than later wartime production examples.

The DM marking is linked to early German-influenced manufacture connected with the introduction and development of the Swedish Mauser cartridge system during the late 19th century. These early production rounds are particularly desirable among advanced collectors due to their historical importance and limited surviving numbers.

Dated 1896, this cartridge originates from the very beginning of Swedish Mauser service history and represents an important transitional period in European military ammunition development.

The round retains authentic age-related finish and strong historical character, making it an outstanding addition to collections focused on pre-WW1 militaria, Mauser rifles, or rare military ammunition.

This cartridge has been rendered completely inert and is safe for display purposes only.
