Product Description

An original Soviet SKS ammunition pouch, complete with three original 10-round stripper clips, each loaded with 10 inert 7.62×39mm cartridges, giving a total of 30 inert rounds exactly as carried by Soviet and Warsaw Pact soldiers.

Introduced in 1945 alongside Sergei Simonov's revolutionary SKS-45 self-loading rifle, this ammunition pouch formed an integral part of the Soviet infantryman's combat equipment throughout the early Cold War. Designed to carry 30 rounds of 7.62×39mm ammunition on three steel stripper clips, it enabled rapid reloading of the fixed 10-round magazine fitted to the SKS rifle.

Although the AK-47 eventually replaced the SKS as the Soviet Union's primary service rifle, millions of SKS carbines remained in military service around the world for decades. The accompanying ammunition pouches continued to be issued by Soviet, Chinese and numerous Warsaw Pact and allied nations, making them one of the most recognisable pieces of Cold War military equipment.

This set includes:

  • 1 x Original Soviet SKS ammunition pouch
  • 3 x Original 10-round steel stripper clips
  • 30 x Inert 7.62×39mm cartridges

For collectors seeking an even more authentic display, the inert cartridges can be supplied fitted with inert primers, closely replicating the appearance of original service ammunition while remaining completely inert and intended solely for display purposes.

Whether displayed alongside an SKS rifle, Cold War collection or military webbing, this complete set recreates exactly how Soviet soldiers carried their ready ammunition during the 1950s and 1960s.

A superb and increasingly difficult set to find complete, making it an outstanding addition to any collection of Soviet militaria, SKS rifles, Cold War equipment or Warsaw Pact ammunition.
