Product Description
Original inert U.S. Army .30-40 Krag cartridge manufactured at the famous Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia.
This example bears the FA 3 headstamp, indicating production by Frankford Arsenal during March manufacture. The .30-40 Krag was the first smokeless powder service cartridge adopted by the U.S. Army and saw service during the Spanish-American War, Philippine-American War and the early twentieth century before replacement by the .30-03 and subsequently the .30-06 Springfield.
Featuring the classic round-nosed military projectile, this inert example is an excellent collector's piece representing the ammunition used in the Krag–Jørgensen rifle, one of America's most historic military firearms.
Ideal for collectors of U.S. military ammunition, Spanish-American War militaria and early smokeless powder cartridges.
