Product Description
This is an original inert Italian 9mm Short (9mm Corto / .380 ACP) cartridge dating to the Second World War and bearing the RMB-43 headstamp, indicating production in 1943. The marking “RM” refers to inspector Mario Rubino, while “B” denotes manufacture at the Pirotecnico di Bologna arsenal, one of Italy’s wartime ammunition facilities.
The 9mm Corto cartridge (9×17mm) was widely used by Italian forces throughout WWII and is most closely associated with the service pistol Beretta M1934, which was issued to officers, NCOs, and specialist troops of the Royal Italian Army.
This example has been rendered completely inert, making it safe for collecting, display, educational use, or inclusion in militaria collections. The cartridge retains its original wartime appearance and headstamp markings, providing a tangible link to Italy’s wartime ammunition production during the later years of the conflict.
WWII Italian pistol ammunition is sought after by collectors due to its distinctive headstamps, varied wartime manufacturers, and its connection to Italian military sidearms of the period.
A genuine inert wartime cartridge such as this makes an excellent addition to any WWII ammunition collection, Beretta display, or Italian militaria grouping.
