Product Description
An original British WWII .455 Webley Mk VIz inert cartridge, manufactured by Kynoch Ltd. in 1942 and featuring the desirable K 42 VIz military headstamp.
The .455 Webley Mk VIz was introduced during the Second World War as an improved version of the earlier Mk VI cartridge. The suffix "z" denotes that the cartridge was loaded with nitrocellulose propellant rather than traditional cordite, providing cleaner burning characteristics while maintaining the standard 265-grain full metal jacket bullet. This became the final standard British military loading of the famous .455 Webley service cartridge.
Manufactured by Kynoch Ltd., Birmingham, one of Britain's principal wartime ammunition producers, these cartridges were issued for use in Webley Mk VI and other British .455 calibre service revolvers. Although Britain had officially adopted the .380 Enfield revolver before the war, large numbers of .455 revolvers remained in military service with the Home Guard, Royal Navy, RAF and other units throughout WWII.
