Product Description

Original British No.36M Mk I Mills Bomb Hand Grenade – Complete Inert Example

An excellent original example of the iconic British No.36M Mk I Mills Bomb hand grenade, one of the most recognisable pieces of British military equipment of the 20th century.

This example retains its original cast-iron segmented body together with the lever, striker mechanism, safety pin and pull ring. Particularly nice are the surviving traces of original coloured paint markings within the body grooves, giving the grenade plenty of genuine period character.

The removable alloy base plug is clearly marked “No.36M Mk I” together with additional manufacturer/inspection markings. The lever also carries a clearly visible D.H.S. maker's mark.

The grenade displays extremely well, retaining an attractive aged finish with surface wear, oxidation and paint loss consistent with its age and military use.

Completely inert and empty with no explosive or energetic contents whatsoever. For historical collecting and display purposes only.

A very attractive and increasingly desirable example of the classic British Mills Bomb and an excellent addition to a WWI/WWII British militaria collection.
