Product Description

This K.O. Peppiatt One Pound banknote, Series "A" Britannia, serial number T53A109932 (Dugg. B238), is an authentic British pre-WWII banknote issued under the signature of Chief Cashier K.O. Peppiatt. Part of the classic “Britannia” design series, this note features the iconic figure of Britannia seated with shield and trident on the left-hand side of the obverse, symbolising Britain’s maritime strength and national identity.

Issued in the late 1930s, these notes were printed on high-quality paper with intricate engraving, reflecting the Bank of England’s commitment to security and design excellence. The denomination “One Pound” is clearly marked, while the printed serial number T53A109932 and Peppiatt’s signature confirm its authenticity. (Bank of England Museum)

Highly collectible among numismatists, this Series "A" note represents a key piece of British financial history, bridging the interwar period and the early years of World War II. Its clear details, original colour, and excellent condition make it a valuable addition to any British banknote, historical, or wartime collection.

Collector Note:
These notes are increasingly rare in fine condition, particularly those with low serial numbers or crisp preservation. Ideal for display or investment.
