Product Description
An original inert U.S. .45 ACP cartridge bearing the desirable ECS 43 headstamp, confirming wartime production in 1943 at the famous Evansville Chrysler Sunbeam Plant in Indiana, USA. This factory formed part of the enormous American wartime ammunition programme, established to supply Allied forces with vast quantities of small arms ammunition during the Second World War.
The .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) cartridge is one of the most iconic military pistol calibres ever produced, best known for use in the legendary M1911 pistol, Thompson submachine gun and M3 Grease Gun. Millions were produced for service across every theatre of war, from Europe to the Pacific.
This example retains its authentic wartime appearance with a strong headstamp and original military character, making it an excellent collector piece for those interested in U.S. ordnance production, WWII industrial history, or classic American service ammunition. Professionally inert and intended for display purposes only, it is ideal for cartridge cabinets, militaria collections, or headstamp study sets.
A genuine piece of WWII American manufacturing history and a fine addition to any serious ammunition collection.
