Product Description
This inert .380 revolver cartridge, bearing the “K57” headstamp, was manufactured by Kynoch, one of Britain’s most important ammunition producers. The “K” identifies Kynoch as the manufacturer, while the “57” indicates the year of production, 1957, placing this example firmly within the post‑Second World War period.
The .380 calibre cartridge, also known as the .380/200 or .38 Smith & Wesson, was widely used by British and Commonwealth forces throughout the 20th century. It was the standard revolver cartridge for service revolvers such as the Enfield No.2 and Smith & Wesson Victory models. Known for its manageable recoil and dependable performance, it remained in military and police service for many years.
This cartridge has been professionally rendered completely inert, with no powder or active primer present, ensuring it is safe for handling, collecting, or display. The brass casing remains in good condition, with clear headstamp markings that enhance its authenticity and collector appeal.
An excellent addition to any British militaria or ammunition collection, this Kynoch .380 cartridge represents genuine post‑war British ammunition history and is ideal for display alongside period revolvers or military equipment.
