Product Description
An original and highly collectable British .303 inch Mark IV cartridge, manufactured by the Royal Laboratory at Woolwich Arsenal.
The headstamp carries the distinctive R↑L Royal Laboratory marking, incorporating the British Government Broad Arrow, together with the IV Mark designation.
The .303 Mk IV belongs to the early Victorian development of British military .303 ammunition and predates the familiar Mk VI and pointed Mk VII service cartridges.
This example retains its characteristic early round-nosed projectile, together with an attractive naturally aged brass case and clearly visible Royal Laboratory markings.
An excellent early cartridge for a specialist collection of British .303 ammunition, Lee-Metford/Lee-Enfield ammunition or Victorian military cartridges.
