Product Description

This original inert British Kynoch .470 cartridge is an excellent example of one of the most famous and powerful big game hunting calibres ever produced. Manufactured by the historic Kynoch, this cartridge represents the golden age of British sporting ammunition and safari hunting.

The .470 calibre is most commonly associated with the legendary .470 Nitro Express, introduced in the early 20th century for use in large calibre double rifles. It quickly became one of the most trusted cartridges for dangerous game hunting, including elephant, buffalo, and other large African game, due to its exceptional stopping power and reliability.

This inert example features a brass cartridge case with a clear Kynoch headstamp, confirming its British manufacture and authenticity. The cartridge retains its original profile and finish, displaying the robust construction typical of ammunition designed for heavy game rifles.

The round has been professionally deactivated and contains no live primer or propellant, ensuring it is completely inert and safe to handle, display, or include in educational collections. A highly desirable and iconic addition for collectors of British big game ammunition.
