Product Description
This inert British .303 cartridge, bearing the headstamp “Eley 1912”, is a genuine piece of early 20th-century military ammunition. Manufactured by Eley Brothers, a leading British ammunition producer, this round represents pre‑World War I military production for the .303 British calibre rifle. The 1912 date indicates manufacture during the Edwardian era, making it a highly collectible example for historians and militaria enthusiasts alike.
The .303 British cartridge was the standard issue for the British Army and Commonwealth forces, chambered in rifles such as the Lee–Enfield series. Known for its reliability, moderate recoil, and effectiveness, it served in conflicts ranging from pre‑World War I colonial engagements to both World Wars.
This example has been professionally rendered inert, with no powder or live primer present, ensuring it is completely safe for handling, display, or educational purposes. The brass casing is in good condition, with a clear and legible headstamp that highlights its historical authenticity.
Ideal for collectors of British military memorabilia, Lee–Enfield rifles, or vintage ammunition, this 1912 Eley .303 cartridge provides a tangible link to early 20th-century military history and a beautiful addition to any historical display.
