Product Description
Original WW1-era inert 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge with S67 MW 1918 headstamp, manufactured at the Königliche Munitionsfabrik, Witten (MW).
Dated 1918, this round represents late-war German production, when material conservation led to the use of S67 brass alloy cases (67% copper / 33% zinc). The segmented headstamp format is typical of German WW1 ammunition, indicating case material, manufacturer, and date.
Witten is a less commonly encountered producer compared to major factories such as Spandau or Polte, adding to the collector appeal of this example.
This cartridge would have been standard issue for use in the Gewehr 98 rifle and MG08 machine gun, forming part of the backbone of German infantry ammunition during the First World War.
✔ Dated 1918 (WW1 period)
✔ Munitionsfabrik Witten manufacture (MW code)
✔ S67 wartime brass alloy case
✔ Less common maker
✔ Fully inert – no live components
A strong WW1 German cartridge with added interest due to its less common factory origin.
