Product Description

Original WW2-era inert 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge with atx St+ 1943 headstamp, manufactured by Hugo Schneider AG (HASAG), Leipzig, Germany.

Dated 1943, this round represents mid-war German ammunition production, during which steel cases became standard due to brass shortages. The St+ marking denotes an improved steel case, typically lacquered for enhanced corrosion resistance and performance.

HASAG was a significant contributor to German wartime production, supplying large quantities of small arms ammunition for frontline use.

This cartridge would have been standard issue for the Kar98k rifle, MG34, and MG42 machine guns, forming a core part of German infantry and machine gun ammunition supply.

The additional “P” marking (if present on the headstamp) is consistent with an inspection or acceptance mark, rather than part of the primary factory code.

✔ Dated 1943 (mid-war production)
✔ HASAG Leipzig manufacture (atx code)
✔ Improved steel case (St+)
✔ Standard German service ammunition

A solid collectible example of German mid-war production from a well-documented manufacturer.
