Product Description
An original .45 Auto Rim inert cartridge featuring the classic R-P headstamp, identifying manufacture by Remington Peters, one of America’s best-known ammunition manufacturers.
The .45 Auto Rim cartridge was specifically developed after the First World War for use in Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge using half-moon clips. The Auto Rim design featured a thicker rim, allowing revolvers to function without clips while still using the powerful .45 calibre platform.
Strongly associated with American military revolvers and early 20th century handgun history, the .45 Auto Rim remains an increasingly collectible cartridge due to its unique design and historical connection to US service sidearms.
The R-P headstamp represents production by Remington Peters, a respected American ammunition company known for both military and commercial cartridge manufacture.
This example retains authentic period appearance with attractive age-related patina and clear markings, making it an excellent addition to collections focused on US handgun ammunition, revolver cartridges, or vintage American firearms history.
A distinctive and increasingly hard-to-find calibre with strong display appeal.
