Product Description

This inert .303 British cartridge, dated 1948 and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium, is an excellent post-war example of one of the world’s most iconic rifle calibres. FN was a major supplier of ammunition to numerous Allied and Commonwealth nations, and its .303 production helped support post-WWII re-armament, training, and reserve stocks as Europe rebuilt its military capability.

The cartridge retains its original wartime-style brass case, bullet profile, and clean “FN 48” headstamp, clearly identifying its origin and manufacture year. FN-marked .303 rounds are sought after by collectors due to the company’s long history, global distribution, and the relatively smaller production numbers compared to British factories such as Kynoch or Royal Laboratory.

This round has been professionally rendered completely inert, containing no primer compound or propellant. It is safe for handling and ideal for display, educational use, or inclusion in a calibre comparison board. Its crisp headstamp and tidy case make it a strong collector’s example.

A great addition for enthusiasts of Lee-Enfield rifles, post-war ammunition development, or anyone expanding a collection of international .303 British cartridges, this 1948-dated FN round offers both historical interest and excellent presentation.
