Product Description
This original inert .303 British‑calibre ball round, dated 1940 and headstamped “VPT”, was manufactured by Valtion Patruunatehdas (VPT), Lapua, Finland. The headstamp clearly identifies its origin at Finland’s state-owned cartridge factory, which produced military ammunition for Finnish armed forces during the Second World War, including .303 rounds for use in rifles and aircraft guns such as the Lewis and Vickers.
The .303 British cartridge was widely used internationally, but Finnish-manufactured examples like this are rare, making them particularly interesting for collectors of historical or foreign ammunition. VPT rounds are notable for their quality manufacturing and distinctive Lapua headstamp.
This round has been professionally deactivated to UK legal standards, ensuring it is completely inert while retaining its original casing, bullet, and primer. Collectors value VPT-marked .303 rounds for their unique Finnish origin, historical wartime context, and scarcity outside Finland.
Ideal for display boards, specialist collections, or international ammunition exhibits, this 1940 VPT round provides a tangible link to Finland’s wartime munitions production and represents a fascinating piece of .303 British-calibre history.
