Product Description
This original inert .303 British ball round, dated 1955 and manufactured by the Kynoch Factory, represents a late-production example from the post–Second World War era. By the mid-1950s, .303 British ammunition was still in widespread use throughout the British Army and Commonwealth forces, even as many nations began transitioning toward newer NATO-standard calibres. Ammunition from the Kynoch Factory was well regarded for its reliability and was issued for weapons such as the Lee–Enfield No.4 rifle, Bren light machine gun, and Vickers machine gun, all of which remained in service into the 1950s.
The clear “K 55” headstamp identifies this cartridge as a Kynoch-produced round from one of the final periods of British .303 manufacture before the calibre was gradually phased out. Professionally deactivated to UK legal standards, this example retains its complete original appearance while being fully safe for handling and display.
Collectors appreciate 1950s-dated Kynoch ammunition for its association with post-war reorganisation, National Service, and early Cold War training.
