Product Description

This inert .303 British cartridge, dated 1952 and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium, is an excellent post-war example of one of the world’s most iconic rifle calibres. FN was a major supplier of ammunition to numerous Allied and Commonwealth nations, and its .303 production helped support post-WWII re-armament, training, and reserve stocks as Europe rebuilt its military capability.

This inert .303 British MKVI proof round, manufactured by Kynoch, represents an მნიშვნელოვანი piece of British ammunition history. Proof rounds were specially loaded cartridges designed to test the strength and safety of firearms, typically generating higher pressures than standard service ammunition. They were used during factory testing and armourer inspections to ensure rifles such as the Lee-Enfield could safely withstand operational stresses.

The MKVI designation places this round in the early 20th century, prior to the widespread adoption of the MKVII spitzer cartridge in 1910. Kynoch, one of Britain’s प्रमुख ammunition manufacturers, supplied both military and commercial markets and is well regarded among collectors for its high-quality production and historical importance.

Proof rounds are far less commonly encountered than standard ball ammunition, making them particularly desirable to collectors. Their specialised purpose and limited production runs contribute to their scarcity on the collector market.

This example has been rendered completely inert, with no live primer or propellant, ensuring it is safe for display in accordance with UK regulations (subject to local laws). Retaining its original form and character, it is an excellent addition for collectors of .303 ammunition, Kynoch products, or British military history.
