Product Description

Original inert .303 British Mk VII cartridge with RL 14 headstamp, manufactured in 1914 by the Royal Laboratory, Woolwich Arsenal, London.

The RL factory code represents the historic Royal Laboratory at Woolwich, one of Britain’s principal military ammunition production facilities during the early stages of the First World War. The 14 date marks this cartridge as an early WW1 production example manufactured during the opening year of the conflict.

The Mk VII designation identifies the standard British .303 service loading introduced for the Lee-Enfield rifle and widely used in Vickers and Lewis machine guns throughout WW1.

1914 dated Royal Laboratory rounds are highly collectible due to their direct association with the outbreak period of the Great War and Britain’s wartime mobilisation.

An excellent original inert cartridge for Lee-Enfield, WW1 and British militaria collections.
