Product Description
Original inert .303 British Mk VII cartridge with B 13 headstamp, manufactured in 1913 by the Birmingham Metals & Munitions Co. Ltd. prior to the outbreak of the First World War.
The B factory code is associated with Birmingham wartime ammunition manufacture and is commonly attributed to Birmingham Metals & Munitions production. The 13 date places this cartridge in the important pre-WW1 era, produced just before Britain entered the Great War.
The Mk VII designation identifies the standard British .303 service loading used with the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) rifle and British machine guns including the Vickers.
Pre-war 1913 dated .303 cartridges are particularly sought after by collectors because they represent the final years of peacetime British military ammunition production before the massive wartime expansion of 1914–1918.
