Product Description

Original WW2-era inert .303 British Ball cartridge with clear GB 1943 headstamp. The “GB” factory code denotes Greenwood & Batley Ltd, Leeds, a major British engineering firm that played a significant role in wartime ammunition production.

Dated 1943, this round represents peak early–mid war output, when British industry was fully mobilised to supply the armed forces. Greenwood & Batley are a well-known and collectible manufacturer within .303 circles, with their wartime production forming an important part of the UK’s ammunition supply chain.

This example is a standard Ball loading (non-tracer), the most commonly issued .303 ammunition type used across all British and Commonwealth forces. Widely associated with Lee-Enfield rifles, Bren guns, and Vickers machine guns, ball cartridges were the backbone of service ammunition throughout the conflict.

The headstamp remains clear and legible, making this an excellent display piece or reference example for collectors focusing on British wartime manufacturers.

✔ Dated 1943 (early–mid war production)
✔ Greenwood & Batley, Leeds manufacture
✔ Recognised British wartime maker
✔ Standard Ball loading (.303 British)

A solid and collectible example from a respected British manufacturer, ideal for .303, WW2, or industrial production collections.
