Product Description

This British 40mm MKIII Bofors Gun Cartridge Case, dated 1942, is a genuine artifact from World War II, offering a tangible connection to the fierce anti-aircraft defenses of the era. Manufactured during a pivotal year of the conflict, this brass cartridge case was used in the iconic Bofors 40mm L/60 gun, a widely deployed weapon system critical in protecting Allied forces from enemy aircraft.

The case is headstamped with clear markings indicating its British origin, caliber, and production date. Its robust brass construction has aged gracefully, displaying the authentic patina of wartime use. Originally fired from a quick-firing autocannon capable of up to 120 rounds per minute, this spent shell would have played a role in critical battles across land and sea.

Collectors and historians alike will appreciate the cartridge case’s authenticity, historical significance, and connection to Britain’s war effort. Whether displayed as a centerpiece in a military collection or used for educational purposes, this 40mm MKIII case is a compelling relic from one of history’s most defining conflicts.

Own a piece of WWII history and honor the engineering and bravery behind the defense of freedom during the darkest days of the 20th century.
