An original WW2 German 9mm inert cartridge featuring the wartime “anh” manufacturer code and dated 1944.
During the Second World War, Germany used a coded headstamp system to conceal the identities of ammunition manufacturers. The code “anh” was assigned to Otto Eberhardt Patronenfabrik, Hirtenberg, a recognised wartime producer of German military ammunition.
This cartridge represents genuine late-war German 9mm production and would have been manufactured for use in standard German military sidearms and submachine guns of the period, including the MP40 and P08/P38 pistol platforms.
The round retains authentic age-related finish and markings, making it an excellent collectible example of wartime German ammunition production. Original coded German cartridges are increasingly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance and the wide variety of wartime factory codes used throughout the conflict.
An ideal addition for collectors of WW2 German militaria, ammunition, or coded headstamp collections.
