Original 1938 Austrian 8×56mmR Mannlicher M.30S ammunition display set comprising five inert cartridges held in an original five-round Mannlicher M95 en-bloc clip.
The 8×56mmR M.30S cartridge was adopted by Austria for use with converted Mannlicher M95 straight-pull rifles and carbines. The distinctive Mannlicher en-bloc clip was inserted complete into the rifle's magazine and remained in the weapon until the final cartridge was chambered.
Of particular interest is the Austrian double-headed eagle visible on the cartridge headstamp. This was an Austrian government/state ammunition marking associated with the Federal State of Austria period from 1934 to 1938, prior to the replacement of Austrian markings following the Anschluss.
The illustrated cartridge is 1938 dated, making this an attractive late pre-Anschluss Austrian military ammunition example.
The five cartridges have brass cases with silver-coloured pointed projectiles and are displayed in an original blackened steel five-round Mannlicher clip. The clip itself also carries a clearly stamped Austrian double-headed eagle.
A particularly attractive complete display set for collectors of Austrian military ammunition, Mannlicher M95 rifles, en-bloc clips and inter-war military equipment.
Condition: Good original condition with age-related wear, patination and minor surface marking. Please study the photographs as they form part of the description.

All five cartridges are completely inert, containing no propellant and no live primers, making them safe for display, study, or reference collections. The original Mannlicher charger retains correct form and function, designed to load five rounds directly into the rifle’s internal magazine. Condition is good, with honest age-related wear consistent with service and storage. An excellent display piece for collectors of WWII ammunition, German-produced ordnance, or Steyr Mannlicher equipment.
