Product Description
Original five-round 8×56mmR Mannlicher M95 en-bloc clip containing five inert Austrian M.30S military cartridges.
The cartridges are Austrian manufacture and dated 1938, with the distinctive Austrian double-headed eagle visible on the headstamp. This marking belongs to the Federal State of Austria period immediately before the Anschluss of March 1938, making these particularly interesting late inter-war Austrian military ammunition examples.
The cartridges have brass cases and the distinctive silver-coloured pointed M.30S projectile adopted for the 8×56mmR cartridge used in converted Mannlicher M95 rifles and carbines.
Of additional collector interest, the steel en-bloc clip carries the distinctive M manufacturer's stamp. This marking is associated with Československé Muniční a Kovodělné Závody a.s. of Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, the former Georg Roth/Juraj Roth ammunition works.
The Mannlicher en-bloc system was loaded into the rifle complete with all five cartridges, with the clip remaining in the magazine until the final cartridge was chambered.
An attractive combination of 1938 Austrian military ammunition and a separately manufacturer-marked Czechoslovak M95 clip.
Good original condition with age-related patination, handling marks and wear as shown in the photographs.
