Product Description

This is an original WW2 German Wehrmacht Bakelite Marching Compass, marked with the wartime code "cxn" indicating manufacture by Emil Busch AG, Rathenow—a known optics and instrument supplier for the German military. Issued to infantry and field units, these compasses were essential for navigation across varied terrain during wartime operations.

Housed in its original brown Bakelite case, this example remains in excellent working condition. The needle rotates freely, the dial markings are clear and legible, and the sighting mechanism functions as intended. The Bakelite case is intact with no cracks, retaining its robust construction and field-ready utility.

Adding to its authenticity, the underside of the case still bears original wartime dirt and usage marks, offering a tangible reminder of its time in active service. The “cxn” factory code and Wehrmacht-style design confirm its military issue status.

This is not only a fully functional vintage compass but also a historically significant artifact from one of the most documented conflicts in history. A rare and valuable addition to any WW2 German militaria collection, perfect for display, reenactment, or historical education.
