Product Description
An original inert German 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge bearing the dou St 10 1943 headstamp. This is a genuine Second World War military cartridge produced for the Wehrmacht during 1943.
The dou manufacturer code identifies Waffenwerke Brünn A.G., Werk Povážská Bystrica (Brno Arsenal), located in what is now Slovakia. During the Second World War, this factory produced large quantities of 7.92×57mm ammunition for the German armed forces under the coded dou designation.
The headstamp markings identify:
- dou – Waffenwerke Brünn A.G., Werk Povážská Bystrica
- St – Steel cartridge case
- 10 – Production Lot 10
- 1943 – Year of manufacture
The St marking denotes a steel-cased cartridge, introduced by Germany to conserve brass during wartime production. These cartridges were widely issued for use in the Karabiner 98k, Gewehr 98, MG34, MG42, FG42, and other German weapons chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge.
This 1943-dated example is an excellent addition to any collection of German military ammunition, Mauser rifles, machine guns or WWII militaria.
