For Sale: WW1 British Army Medical Officer's Hypodermic Morphine Syringes - Unused Tin with Original Contents

This listing features an authentic and rare WW1-era British Army Medical Officer's hypodermic morphine syringe set, preserved in its original tin. The tin and its contents are in exceptional condition, showcasing a remarkable piece of history.

Tin Dimensions:

  • Length: 8.59 cm
  • Width: 3 cm
  • Height: 1.98 cm
  • Writing on Tin: Height: 0.18 cm, Length: 1.17 cm
  • Wire Width: 0.56 cm

The front of the tin is marked with E.S.S. Ltd at its center. Inside, you will find:

  • Two unused morphine syrettes.
  • Cotton wool padding.
  • One catgut surgical suture.
  • A metal wire securing the tin closed.

Note: The original instructions and the seal for the wire are missing.

The morphine syrettes were manufactured by Roche Products Limited between 1909 and 1920. They remain unopened and unused, likely surviving both World Wars. Each syrette is labeled as follows:
