Product Description

The INERT W-W .38-40 Winchester round is a historical piece of ammunition, reflecting the craftsmanship and innovation of one of the most respected manufacturers in the ammunition industry, Winchester. Introduced in 1875, the .38-40 Winchester cartridge was originally designed for the famous Winchester Model 1873 lever-action rifle, also known as “The Rifle That Won the West.” This round was used for both hunting and law enforcement purposes in the late 19th century, prized for its stopping power and reliability.

This particular INERT round is marked with the “W-W” headstamp, indicating it was manufactured by the Winchester-Western Company, a subsidiary of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The round contains no live primer, powder, or propellant, making it safe for handling and display. The brass casing remains in excellent condition, showcasing the durability and quality for which Winchester was known.

The .38-40 Winchester cartridge was popular with lawmen, outlaws, and hunters due to its versatility and accuracy. Though it is no longer widely used today, it holds a special place in American firearms history.

Perfect for collectors, firearm historians, or anyone interested in the legacy of early American ammunition, the INERT W-W .38-40 Winchester round offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Whether for display or study, it serves as a valuable artifact of 19th-century sporting and military history.
