Product Description
An original vintage Eley .380 revolver cartridge, manufactured in Britain by the famous Eley ammunition company.
The brass case carries the clearly struck proprietary headstamp:
ELEY – 380
This example is fitted with a traditional round-nosed lead projectile, with its lubrication/cannelure area visible immediately above the case mouth. The cartridge displays considerable age and patination, particularly to the exposed lead projectile, giving it an attractive period appearance.
The .380 revolver cartridge family has a long association with British commercial and military revolvers. However, because this example carries the straightforward commercial ELEY 380 headstamp rather than military date and acceptance markings, I would sell it specifically as a vintage British commercial .380 revolver cartridge rather than claim a particular military loading.
A good representative example for collectors of Eley ammunition, British pistol and revolver cartridges and obsolete ammunition.
