Product Description
Original WW1 German inert 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge with DM 1915 headstamp, attributed to Deutsche Metallpatronenfabrik (DM), the predecessor to Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM).
Dated 1915, this round represents early–mid war production, during a period when legacy headstamp formats and tooling were still in use. The DM marking reflects the earlier factory designation, making this example distinct from the more commonly encountered wartime “S” and “P” headstamp systems.
DWM was one of Germany’s principal ammunition manufacturers, supplying large quantities of 7.92mm Mauser cartridges throughout the First World War.
This cartridge would have been issued for use in the Gewehr 98 rifle and MG08 machine gun, forming part of standard German infantry ammunition.
✔ Dated 1915 (WW1 early–mid war)
✔ DM / DWM lineage manufacture
✔ Early headstamp format (less common)
✔ German military production
✔ Fully inert – no live components
A less commonly encountered WW1 German cartridge, with added collector appeal due to its early factory marking style.
