Product Description
This original inert .303 British Lee-Enfield cartridge, headstamped E 1914, is an excellent and historically significant example of early First World War British service ammunition. Manufactured by Eley Brothers, one of Britain’s foremost ammunition producers, this round dates to the opening year of the Great War and represents ammunition issued during the rapid mobilisation of British forces in 1914.
The .303 British cartridge was the standard rifle calibre of the British Army, used extensively in the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) rifle and associated machine guns. Early WW1 dated examples such as this are particularly desirable, as they reflect pre-war manufacturing standards transitioning into full wartime production.
This cartridge has been professionally rendered completely inert, containing no live primer or propellant, making it safe for handling, ownership, and display. It retains correct period dimensions, materials, and a clear E 1914 headstamp, adding strong authenticity and collector appeal.
An ideal piece for collectors of WW1 British militaria, early .303 ammunition, or Lee-Enfield-related displays, this inert round complements charger clips, period pouches, and First World War small arms exhibits.
