Product Description

Central Bank of The Islamic Republic of Iran 10000 Rials

Obverse - At lower left corner:- The Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, Iran, is a complex that contains the mausoleum of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of Twelver Shias. It is the largest mosque in the world by area. Also contained within the complex are the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, a library, four seminaries, a cemetery, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.

Reverse - The Dome of the Rock (Arabic: قبة الصخرة‎ Qubbat aṣ-Ṣakhra) is an Islamic shrine located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. It was initially completed in 691–92 CE at the order of Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik. The original dome collapsed in 1015 and was rebuilt in 1022–23. The Dome of the Rock is in its core one of the oldest extant works of Islamic architecture. It is the most recognizable landmark in the whole Jerusalem city.
The site's great significance for Muslims derives from traditions connecting it to the creation of the world and the belief that Hazrat Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) Night Journey to Heaven started from the rock at the center of the structure.

Watermark - The Late Imam Ayatolah Seyyed Ruhollah Khomeini
