Collection: Territorial Efficiency Medal

The Territorial Efficiency Medal (TEM) is a military decoration awarded to members of the Territorial Army and other Auxiliary or Reserve Forces of the British Armed Forces. It was first established in 1908 to recognize the long and efficient service of part-time soldiers, and it is still awarded today.

The TEM is awarded to those who have completed 12 years of service in the Territorial Army or other reserve forces, with a minimum of 10 years' efficient service. The medal is also awarded for commissioned officers who have completed 12 years' service in the Territorial Army or other reserve forces, with a minimum of five years' commissioned service.

The TEM features the reigning monarch on the obverse, while the reverse bears the words "For Long Service and Efficiency in the Territorial Army". Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters "TEM" after their name.

It is worth noting that the Territorial Army was renamed the Army Reserve in 2014, and the TEM is now awarded to members of the Army Reserve, as well as other reserve forces, including the Royal Naval Reserve, the Royal Marines Reserve, and the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
