Collection: German Rentenmark 1937

The Rentenmark was a currency issued by the German government in 1923, in an attempt to stabilize the economy and restore confidence in the German currency following a period of hyperinflation. The Rentenmark was backed by mortgages on agricultural and industrial properties and was initially valued at 1 trillion Papiermark, the previous German currency, which had become virtually worthless due to hyperinflation.

The Rentenmark was later replaced by the Reichsmark in 1924, which was the official currency of Germany until the end of World War II. It is worth noting that the Reichsmark underwent several devaluations during its lifespan due to economic and political factors.

There is no Rentenmark from 1937 as it was only issued from 1923 to 1924. The Reichsmark was the currency in circulation in Germany in 1937.
